Year 7 Food students have just completed their first module of Food & Nutrition. Their assessment task was to ‘Design and Make a carbohydrate salad that meets the nutritional needs of teenagers and contains a range of colours, textures and flavours.’
In completing this task, students showcased the practical skills they have learnt since September including hygiene, safety and time management.
I was so impressed with their results, the students produced their own plans to enable them to work independently and had researched well into the nutrients teenagers need and added these food sources into their final recipes.
The smiles on their faces and clear enjoyment whilst they were cooking was a pleasure to see.
Well done year 7.
