Swindon Youth Festival of Literature 2025

This year, as part of the Annual Literature Festival, students at Kingsdown School took part in various events including: a trip to the Wyvern Theatre, where they heard about Phil Earle’s journey towards becoming a published author, school visits from performance poet Ash Dickinson and Steve Cole and a Swindon school book quiz, where Kingsdown students did really well ending in 3rd place out of the 12 schools competing. Primary schools: Grange, Ruskin and South Marston, also made an appearance at Kingsdown, where they brought their Year 5s over to see author Gareth P Jones sing songs about vampires and ice cream!
