Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
On behalf of the staff and governors of Kingsdown School, we would like to wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all students, parents, carers and to the wider Kingsdown community.

School closes for students at 12:55pm on Friday 17th December 2010. Students return on Wednesday 5th January 2011 and will be following their Week 2 timetable.

School Uniform
Please ensure that when students return to school after the Christmas break that they have full school uniform including shoes and are appropriately dressed for the weather conditions. Hooded tops are not allowed as part of the school uniform.

Network Maintenance
For the ICT Team, this is a time to do some maintenance work and from 1pm to 5pm on Tuesday 21st December our entire network (including website) will be out of service.

Year 11 Mock Exam Results
Results for Year 11 Mock GCSEs are being issued to students for taking home on Friday 17th December 2010.

Exam Revision
Year 10s and some Year 9s will need to do revision over the break in preparation for their Mock Exams on the 19th January 2011. Exams are running for other subjects and year groups too - check the list of exams.

Year 9 Options
As Year 9 students near the completion of Key Stage 3 there are some decisions to be made regarding options for Key Stage 4. Parents and carers might like to start looking at our Year 9 Options page and the Options Booklets. We look forward to seeing Year 9 parents and carers on 12th January 2011 for Parents Evening and then again on the 25th January 2011 for Options Evening.

New Mobile Phones and Email Addresses
If you do get new mobiles phones or new email addresses over the Christmas period, don't forget to inform your child/children's Student Advisor!

Old Mobile Phones
Any old mobile phone that you're not sure what to do with can be donated to the school - we're collecting on behalf of the Wiltshire Air Ambulance who came into school on Wednesday 15th December for Year 8 assembly after being chosen as this year groups preferred charity.
