Date Posted : 29/04/2010 The Year 8 football team reached the final of the Swindon Schools KO Cup by beating Bradon Forest 4-2 in the semi final last night. Fielding a depleted team with four regular players missing because of injuries the team struggled at the start of the match going 1-0 down in the first 2 minutes with a fine individual goal from the Bradon Forest Centre forward. A superb goal from Kingsdown brought the scores level - a 20 metre shot into the top corner of the net. The score remained 1-1 until halftime after which Kingsdown started to take control, netting 2 more goals to take the score to 3-1. Bradon scored almost on the final whistle to make the final score 4-2. An excellent performance after a difficult start demonstrated the determination to win the team has exhibited all year. Well done to the whole squad in reaching the final for the second year running . Mr G. Smith |
