The Kingsdown Approach

Welcome!

Extended Services is a range of enrichment opportunities and support services offered to parents and students.

The expectation is that these extended services will be developed in response to the needs and wishes of parents, pupils and the wider community.

Research carried out by different organisations, including Ofsted, suggests that those schools which are already offering extended services are experiencing a range of benefits, including:

• Improved pupil self-confidence, motivation and self esteem
• Better attendance, improved behaviour and pupil attainment, reduced exclusion rates
• More engaged and better equipped parents
• Teachers able to focus on teaching and learning
• Better community access to local services and support for community learning

Kingsdown School, Grange Junior and Beechcroft Infants all share an Extended Schools coordinator.
