Applied Science
This course is offered to Alternative Curriculum students and some groups in Year 11 only.
Alternative Curriculum students will follow Entry level science, to satisfy the compulsory parts of the KS4 National Curriculum, alongside the 21st Century Applied Science course offered by OCR.
The course places emphasis upon the vocational aspects of Science, looking at how Science is used by people in a wide variety of jobs. With this in mind, the assessment pattern is very different from the core science course.
The course consists of : -
3 modules of work plus a work related portfolio that is internally marked but externally moderated.
