Learning Resource Centre

Our Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is a vibrant and popular area of the school, providing support to students visiting with a class, within a small group, or as an individual carrying out independent study.

Open from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Thursday and until 3:30pm on Fridays, the LRC offers extensive resources including a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books to suit all reading abilities, graphic novels, newspapers, magazines and a suite of 30 computers with internet access.

Students are able to access the library management programme 'Eclipse' on the school intranet, where they can view their library record and search for books online.

The Connexions Centre is located within the LRC where information can be found on careers and further education.

Riveting Readathon
Each year, 15 Year 9 students are invited to take part in the Riveting Readathon together with Year 9 students from Highworth Warneford and Dorcan schools.

All the students read five specially selected newly published books and then vote for their favourite.

This year 'Solace of the Road' by Siobhan O'Dowd was the winning title after receiving the most votes from all the students involved.

Author Visits
Each year we host visits by authors whose books are popular with students. In November 2010, we will be welcoming the following authors :
